4 of wands and 5 of cups

Intentions focused on the outcome of the guy i’m starting to talk to currently , using the rider waite deck.

They’re such polar opposite cards i’m quite confused.

The 4 of wands is all about happiness and celebration whereas the 5 of cups is disappointment.

They fell out the pack at the same time, the 4 of wands sits below the 5 of cups so I view that as the first card in the order.

I can’t tell if it’s saying disappointment because there won’t be happiness , which I don’t feel like it is.

A previous reading on the outcome with an alternative pack (the light seers) gave me the ace of swords which is new beginnings and mental clarity.

Can someone shine some light on this for me as I am pretty confused. Thanks!
