Death card in a love reading

I’m new to tarot and recently got a reading for romantic love. The first card to be pulled was the death card. Everything else seemed to indicate wonderful things, but I’m just wondering what the interpretation of the death card could mean? My reader said that it showed that my current circumstances could be coming to an end?
