Getting pretty consistent good messages about a person/situation with nothing materializing

So occasionally I ask my cards about a person I've been missing and get pretty good things pointing towards reconciliation and reunion (very consistent two of cups, occasional lovers, lots of four of wands etc etc). But its been a while of these kinds of readings and I haven't seen anything of the sort coming to fruition…am I reading wrong or something?
