How to ask a yes/no question

I was taught to avoid yes/no questions but sometimes that’s what you have. For example, my truck has been in the shop for over a month, 72 days out of the last 90, because of damage done by the mechanic. He’s been promising g me it back for a week now, but delays keep happening.

How would I ask a question, is today the day I’ll get my truck back, without it being a yes/no?
