I want to use Tarot as a Storytelling Tool. Advice?

I have recently purchased The Dungeons And Drsgons Tarot Deck, and decided I want to use the deck to tell stories. Not as a tool to predict the future but the practice of improvising stories by readings of the cards to either myself or others I perform tellings for.

Does anyone have an advice for a novice to pursue this? Is it okay to do with a tarot deck? What is the best way to practice and what are the best reading layouts to perform using this?
