Is my reading style wrong/bad?

As a teen I decided I wanted to learn to read tarot cards. I started with a Rider Waite deck, as I’m sure many do. And I just used the little book that came along with it to do the reading, not using my senses to add to the reading at all. It was very clinical.

As the years went by, and I experimented on and off with several different decks, I finally found THE DECK for me.

This being said, I never learned the meanings of the cards. And this deck that I have fallen so deeply in love with uses ghosts, bats, pumpkins and imps as the minor arcana (Halloween by Kipling West). I honestly cannot tell you which is which to correlate with the traditional tarot deck. But my readings are GOOD. Like, really good. I read from the pictures on the cards, inverted makes no difference to me with this deck, and the pictures take on different meanings constantly.

What I want to ask is, is this a wrong or bad way to read tarot? Am I being irresponsible or dangerous reading this way? Or is this how everyone does it? I have read other decks the same since finding this reading style, and get the same feedback, that my readings are spot on.

Help me make sense of it, please!
