Need help with interpretation!

So I did this reading for myself a couple of months ago, but recently it has once again gained importance in my life. For personal reasons I won't disclose the question that I asked, however I will say that this has to do about something very important in my life. Basically it has something to do with a certain thing that I haven't yet achieved in my life, even though I feel like I should have by this point in my life.

My interpretation of these cards is the following:

THE LOVERS – I know a lot of people talk about The Lovers as a card of romantic love, but also something that has to do with discovering your own personal values. For me, The Lovers represents potential. You have Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. They're naked, symbolising their honesty and innocence. They have endless possibilities. Their potential is yet to be realized. Also, I would add that this card has to do with the male and female in all of us waiting to be unified.

7 OF SWORDS – This card I believe has to do with deception. You see a man leaving a campsite with 5 swords in his hands and two swords planted vertically into the ground behind him. This card has always represented to me a certain friend who has disappointed me and taken advantage of my good nature many of times in my life.

THE CHARIOT – The Chariot, directly following The Lovers in the major arcana, to me symbolises the unification of opposites that's happening in The Lovers card. The man operating the chariot seems very masculine, but there are certain feminine aspects about him, for example the fact that he has a long curly blonde hair (I realize that men can also have this type of hair but it's definitely something that would be more common in women). He also has the moon on both of his shoulders and we know that the moon is feminine. The stars above him represent his endless potential, as in he's reaching for the stars. The sphynxes are different colors, white and black. Once again we have the opposites. These I think represent his light and shadow sides. He can successfully operate with both of these. Finally, we have the town in the background, which represents going on a journey and leaving the past behind.

I had trouble interpreting this reading. My theory was, that The Lovers represented my past and endless potential that I had to achieve anything I wanted. The 7 of swords, represented that I unfortunately wasted my potential, or that I let other people tell me I'm not good enough, or the fact that I was just naive to the situations in my life. The Chariot, represented the need to leave the past behind me and continue with a rejuvenated sense of purpose and confidence that I felt at the time.

Some thing to note are the fact that The Lovers card, which is numbered 6 in the major arcana is followed by a 7 of swords. It seems that instead of advancing into the next logical stage, which would have been The Chariot, I unfortunately slipped into the 7 of swords, or in other words instead of using my potential, I let other people take it away from me. Another interesting thing about this is the number two keeps appearing. We have the two lovers, the two swords planted into the ground and the two sphynxes. I don't know what exactly this is supposed to mean. Maybe it represents some sort of duality within all of us, as in light-dark or masculine-feminine. The two swords in the 7 of swords card might represent thi innate potential within myself that still remains, no matter what I've experienced in my life.

I would really love to hear what you think of this. Like I said, I did this reading a while ago, but it's one of the most important that I've done, so it would really mean a lot to me to hear your interpretations.

Thank you!
