so I’ve wondered; Tarots essentially give us advice to what’ll come, but what are they?

I was trying to figure out with whom i communicated using my tarots, so i asked them, and they answered that they are already dead. That they were alone, had no lovers, no family an no friends. It was a few days ago, so i don't exactly remember what cards i drawn. This whole ordeal freaked me out, so I've wanted to ask if you experienced similar with your tarot's? And so, what did they tell you what they were?
