Variety in card meanings

How do you square it when different LWBs / books / resources give contradictory meanings for a card? Just pick your favorite and go for it? I’m not good with memorization so I usually have to consult a reference when doing a reading, but which one I happen to use can really vastly change the meaning of the spread, which is super frustrating.

(also I use pip decks, so “interpreting the card imagery” is less of a guide)
